Soccer Social

It will be difficult to match last week's Lego bonanza and wedding announcements on Soccer Social but we are here to try.

Didier Drogba seems to be enjoying what's left of the Canadian Summer before he hits the field for the Montreal Impact. The USWNT Victory tour has begun and an 8-0 thrashing of Costa Rica has only helped to keep the party going. The NWSL is not having as fantastic of a week and Quincy Amarikwa is up to his old antics...

To get the bad news out of the way lets start with the NWSL. Apparently some of the hotel situations have not been up to par. Specifically, the Adams Mark Hotel in Kansas City has been put on blast by both Alex Morgan and Christine Sinclair of the Portland Thorns.

Alex has since deleted this tweet but thanks to the wonders of the internet...

".@NWSL there's no other way to address continuing problems. Hotels have been unacceptable. For ex. :Bed bugs/mold @ Adams Mark Hotel in KC" - @alexmorgan13

Christine Sinclair has left her complaint live, and although no one wants bad things for the NWSL, bed bugs certainly are no joke.

On a happier note, Didier Drogba seems to be enjoying his brief Canadian summer. While getting back into fitness he played a match with the Montreal Impact reserves and snapped a pic. Those guys are HYPED!...

After training he meandered on over to the Stade Uniprix to enjoy the Rogers Cup thanks to his buddy Novak Djokovic.

Manchester United fans are pleased so far with their new Dutch star, Memphis Depay. The newcomer notched two goals and an assist in United's win over Club Brugge. He had a little help remembering the game plan from his friends over at Under Armour...

Great feeling to slay my first giant with @ManUtd. Time for the next one @UnderArmour. #SlayYourNextGiant

My inspirational shoelace message should probably read, "Keep your head down and point your toe you bumbling fool!!"

After his goalscoring exploits, Memphis decided to try out the Whip but bailed before really getting into the Nae Nae. I'm not one to talk, but I think he could use some more practicing solo in front of the mirror before breaking that one out again.

The USWNT started its victory tour in Pittsburgh and kept the World Cup party going with a resounding 8-0 thumping of Costa Rica.

We also heard that this would be Lori Chalupny's final year of professional soccer and many took to social media to thank her for the memories...

Finally, Quincy Amarikwa appears to be resurrecting #QuincyTime in San Jose. We are hoping for a "Guess That Tune" revival with Chris Wondolowski...
