SoccerGrlProbs contributed several features in our monthly digital magazine. If you don't know who they are, you probably don't spend much time on social media. This group of young women took the simple humor of everyday problems soccer girls experience and turned it into a massive business. 

"The magazine needed an element of fun that truly resonated with soccer athletes and we couldn't think of a more perfect brand than the SGP team," said Owner and Co-Founder Kristine Mason. "Their ability to think outside the box and connect with athletes on a personal and comical level got us very excited about their involvement."

What started as a simple tweet, turned into a global brand. This is their story...

The SoccerGrlProbs team consists of Long Island natives Alanna Locast '12, Shannon Fay '14 and Carly Beyar '14, who are all former members of the Fairfield University Division I Women’s Soccer team. While in between their second and third practice session of the day during preseason of August 2011, the girls and their team were joking around about the struggles of being a female soccer player. They spontaneously decided to come up with a Twitter handle as a comedic outlet to share their inner thoughts and funny moments about the everyday life of a female athlete. Their team told past teammates, friends and coaches about the Twitter handle and within weeks their following grew to hundreds and then thousands (Now, 190k+). Twitter followers then began to tweet at SoccerGrlProbs requesting a YouTube video to be created. In February of 2012, they created their first video, "Sh*t Soccer Girls Say" that tallied over one million views in three days! Today, SGP has produced over 30 videos that have accumulated over 9 million views and 16+ million minutes watched. Not to mention, over 68k Instagram followers and more than 8k Facebook fans. What initially once was a comedic venting outlet, became a lifestyle brand with the release of their online store.

The brand has continued to expand and draw the attention of international superstars like Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux; and their travel schedule this summer is packed full of soccer tournaments and a few World Cup games in the mix.
